No One’s Giving You Permission—It’s Time to Take It

Uncategorized May 22, 2025

Let’s be real: No one is going to show up with a golden scroll, tap your shoulder and say, “Congratulations, you’re ready now.”

That’s not how entrepreneurship works. That’s not how sovereignty works. (Although, I was blessed to be in a room full of women who were saying it)

We grow up in systems that train us to wait: wait to be picked, wait to be promoted, wait to be validated.

So it makes sense that when you start your own business, that old conditioning creeps in. You wait to feel ready. You wait for someone to tell you it’s okay to use your voice. You hold back on launching your offer, raising your rates, going live, or sending that pitch.

But let me say this clearly: You don’t need more permission. You need more conviction.

The Permission Trap

Most of the entrepreneurs I work with have brilliance oozing out of them. But they’re still playing small because they’re stuck in the trap of waiting. They’re afraid of being too much, too loud, too confident, too powerful. And so they dilute their voice. They shrink their prices. They sand off their edges.

And in doing so, they rob the world of the full impact they were born to make.

I did this for so long. Afraid people wouldn't like a lawyer that talked about things other than *just* the law. Someone that didn't fit inside a clean, square box, but someone that was authentically me with all my strange edges and shapes!

It’s costing them (and costed me) clients. Confidence. Energy. Revenue. But most of all, it’s costing them peace. Because playing small is exhausting and it keeps you trapped questioning yourself and your worth.

What Happens When You Take the Damn Permission

When you stop waiting and decide that you’re ALLOWED, that you're WORTHY, that you're ENOUGH, (just as you are right f*cking now) everything shifts. You show up with more clarity. You speak with more authority. You create offers that reflect the full scope of your magic—not just what you think people will pay for.

(Hello, I am a whole person!)

You become magnetic. Because people are drawn to leaders who own their power.

And the truth is, your permission slip was never anyone else’s to give. It was yours all along.

Your Business Needs You to Lead

Leadership doesn’t mean you have all the answers. It means you’re willing to go first.

So if you’re reading this and waiting for a sign? This is it. Stop delaying. Start doing. Say what you need to say. Sell the thing. Stand tall in your fees. Share your values out loud. Build the thing that won’t leave you alone in your head.

You are not required to be less powerful to be more palatable.
